CITI links up to your hospital’s pharmacy operating system, phone lines, and fax lines to provide an effortless transition from your daytime pharmacy practice. We provide your hospital with a dedicated team of pharmacists who are credentialed on your policies and procedures. We strive to be an extension of your pharmacy department and work to build relationships with your nursing and pharmacy staff.

How CITI serves you (if your pharmacy is not open 24 hours):

  • Your on-site pharmacy closes, and CITI after-hour pharmacy coverage begins
  • Orders are sent to your dedicated CTI pharmacists for order entry and verification
  • Pharmacist will provide clinical intervention and clarification
  • Pharmacist verifies order and notifies the nurse that the order is available
  • A shift report is sent to pharmacy detailing the night’s activities as well as any issues that may require a follow up

CITI also can work with medical facilities that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer remote secondary support during peak hours and can even work alongside on-site shifts.

Managing faxed/scanned orders and CPOE orders: CITI has the capability to integrate your CPOE orders and paper orders together into a single queue. This is done through an HL7 interface tool that notifies your pharmacist that a physician has entered an order into your pharmacy queue.

Getting the right IT system for hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy chain can be quite a challenge. Such IT systems need to be interoperable with Hospital Information System (HIS), third-party pharmacy benefit networks, and payer systems, among others. They also need to have an efficient inventory management and supply chain management system to ensure that the inventory is stocked at appropriate levels. All these systems coupled with Point of Sale (POS) systems need to be tightly integrated to ensure operational efficiency.

CITI understands the IT needs of hospital pharmacy and retail pharmacy chains.
